지난 일요일은 왼통 사방이 미세먼지로 휩싸여 있어 모처럼 쉬는 날이었지만 집안에 틀어 박혀
꼼짝할 수가 없었다. 뿌허연 먼지인지 매연인지 모를 대기가 시야에 들어 오면서 기를 죽인다.
한 주의 피로도 풀겸 낮잠을 자고 나서 점심 한 숟깔 뜨고 그래도 할일이 없어 남는 시간에 길만
건너면 있는 영화관 메가박스에 갔다.
마침 "아쿠아맨(AQUAMAN)"을 상영하고 있었다. 남주인공 '제이슨 모모아'의 떡대보단
'앰버 허드(죠니 뎁하고 이혼으로 싸움질 오래한)'가 더 눈에 들어 와 영화를 감상하기로 했다.
경노우대의 관람료는 5,000원이라 볼 만 하다.
'아쿠아맨'은 James Wan(41세)감독의 작품이다. 말레시아에서 태어나 호주 Perth로 이민갔다가
성인이 되어서는 멜번에서 학교를 다녔다. 제임스 완은 '인디영화'나 공포영화를 만들어 성공한
케이스인데 특히 '톱'으로 사람을 썰어내는 공포영화는 눈쌀을 찌프리게 하는 혐오 영화였다.
흥행에 성공하여 제작에도 손을 댔으나 이 역시 성공하여 '아쿠아맨'대작을 만들어내었다.
이 판타지 영화를 보면서 흥미와 재미를 느끼게 되는데 2시간여가 훌쩍 넘어간다. 이 영화에 만족한다.
영화가 끝나고 크레딧 자막과 함께 울려 퍼지는 Skylar Grey의 OST는 아직도 귓가에 남아 여운을 남긴다.

The film tells in real time the story of a town marshal forced to face a gang of killers by himself. The screenplay was written by Carl Foreman, based on John W. Cunningham's Collier's magazine short story, The Tin Star. I remember this film being played every Christmas when I was a kid. Much like The Sound of Music is nowadays.
